Can I protect my subscription form against SPAM?

There are several ways to protect newsletter subscriptions. See also here (opens in a new tab) (German). We recommend a so-called honeypot field. You add another input field to the form that human visitors cannot see. If this field is filled in, it is certainly SPAM and we reject the subscription.

In the stylesheet:

.highlight { display: none; }

In the HTML form:

<div class="highlight">
    <label for="email">Your email address is not requested here, please do NOT enter anything:</label>
    <input id="email_confirm" name="email_confirm" size="60" value="" />
</div>

How can I change the return path?

Undeliverable emails are sent to the return path, where we process them for you as part of our automated bounce management. By default we use our own (sub)domain for this. You can of course also use your own domain. This requires a DNS entry (CNAME) in the DNS settings of your domain. It ensures that undeliverable emails still reach us and bounce management works. You will find instructions for setting it up here.

How can I sign my newsletters with DKIM?

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is an email authentication method. DKIM adds a signature to your emails that is linked to your domain and used for all outgoing newsletters. Signing emails makes it harder to forge the sender and increases the delivery rate of your emails. Click here for the guide.

How can I configure the Sender Policy Framework (SPF)?

The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is another method of preventing the sender address of an email from being forged. With SPF, the owner of a domain enters in the Domain Name System which MTA addresses are allowed to send emails for this domain. You will find details on setting up the SPF entry here.

How can I call the REST API?

The REST API is included in the Platin package and available at https://api.newstroll.de/ (opens in a new tab). Calling the API requires a so-called access token. We use a JSON Web Token (opens in a new tab), which is transmitted as a bearer token in the Authorization field. You will find a description of how to get your token here.

Which functions are available in the REST API?

We are continuously extending the REST API. Services are addressed by URL/URI. The HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, ...) specify which operation is to be carried out. At present you can retrieve, edit and, if necessary, delete recipients, lists, personalisations, newsletters and blacklist entries. You will find the complete documentation on Swaggerhub (opens in a new tab). There you can also try out the methods (with your own token). You will find more information in the guides.

How can I use my own fonts?

You can of course use your own fonts in our editor. With web fonts we can add your fonts to the editor, and the recipient's email program loads the font when the newsletter is viewed. We only support CSS web font rules, and the CSS file must be available via HTTPS. Simply send us the URL of your web font and we will add your font to the editor.
